How to Apply a UV-DTF Decal: Step-by-Step Instructions

UV-DTF (Direct to Film) decals are vibrant, durable decals that can be applied to smooth, hard surfaces including plexiglass, glass, metal, ceramic, plastic, sealed wood, and acrylic. The adhesive is very strong, so careful placement is crucial - once applied, the decal cannot be repositioned.

Important: Watch the video instructions before you start.

⚠️ Special Note: If the decal has an NFC tag, do not apply it to metallic surfaces as this will interfere with NFC functionality.

Preparation

• DO NOT use alcohol to clean - it can break down the adhesive
• DO NOT use frosted or sublimation glass
• Ensure surface is completely clean and dry
• Wash with soap and water, then dry thoroughly
• Remove all dust and debris

Application Steps

1. Trim the Decal: Cut away any excess clear carrier sheet
2. Peel and Position: Peel back 1 inch of backing, expose adhesive, and carefully position
3. Secure Initial Edge: Press down the small exposed area to anchor
4. Apply the Rest: Slowly peel backing while rolling onto surface, smoothing to avoid bubbles
5. Remove Transfer Film: Carefully peel off the clear film at a low angle
6. Final Steps: Smooth out bubbles and do not wash for 24-48 hours

• Hand wash only - no dishwasher
